With extensive real estate industry and capital markets relationships, the team collectively brings over 70 years of experience in property acquisition, management and financing, having completed over $4 billion in commercial real estate transactions to date.

Gordon G. Lawlor, CPA

President and Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder and Trustee

Gordon G. Lawlor is President and Chief Executive Officer of PROREIT and serves on its Board of Trustees. Mr. Lawlor co-founded PROREIT in 2013 with James W. Beckerleg and served as its Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary until April 2023.

Prior to founding PROREIT, Mr. Lawlor was executive vice president, chief financial officer and secretary of CANMARC Real Estate Investment Trust, a publicly-traded REIT with a diversified national portfolio of commercial properties. From 2005 to 2010, he held senior management positions, including as executive for a large, private international real estate investment and management company. Mr. Lawlor also spent nearly a decade at Emera Inc., a publicly-traded utility company where he served in a number of senior management positions, including as director of finance.

Mr. Lawlor has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Saint Mary’s University (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1994.

Alison Schafer, CPA

Chief Financial Officer and Secretary

Alison Schafer is PROREIT’s Chief Financial Officer and Secretary. She joined the REIT as Director of Finance in 2013 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2022.

Prior to PROREIT, Ms. Schafer was controller for Quebec operations at Cominar REIT before being promoted to its accounting director, overseeing the accounting function for the REIT’s entire portfolio, representing about $5.5 billion in investment properties. Before Cominar, Ms. Schafer worked at CANMARC Real Estate Investment Trust, a publicly-traded REIT with a diversified national portfolio of commercial properties, after spending over a decade at Richter, a prominent Montreal-based accounting firm.

Ms. Schafer has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Education from McGill University (Montreal, Quebec) and received her CPA designation in 2003.

Chris Andrea

President, Compass Commercial Realty LP and Senior Vice President, Property Management, PROREIT

Chris Andrea is President of Compass Commercial Realty LP, a property management firm­ acquired by PROREIT in 2018 and Senior Vice President, Property Management, PROREIT. Mr. Andrea is responsible for all of Compass’s real estate functions including leasing, brokerage and property management.

Mr. Andrea has more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to being promoted to the position of president, he was vice president and general manager. Prior to joining Compass, he served as general manager of Oxford Atlantic, and property manager with Fencorp Properties.

Mr. Andrea has a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University (Halifax, Nova Scotia).

Zachary Aaron

Vice President, Investments and Asset Management

Zachary Aaron is Vice President, Investments and Asset Management and has been at PROREIT since 2017.

Having first joined PROREIT as an Analyst, Acquisitions, Mr. Aaron was appointed Manager, Acquisitions in 2020 and Director, Acquisitions and Dispositions in 2022 and Director, Investments and Asset Management in 2023. Mr. Aaron was promoted to Vice President, Investments and Asset Management in April 2024.

Prior to PROREIT, Mr. Aaron worked at CBRE in Paris, France as an Analyst Intern on the International Valuation Team where he contributed to the valuation of French office, retail and industrial properties for international clients. Previously, he worked as an Intern at Bell Canada, where he worked for the Real Estate Asset Management team in Montreal, Quebec.

Mr. Aaron has a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management.
